Alessandra Merizzi

Italian Clinical Psychologist (OPM), Gestalt Psychotherapist (GPTIEAGTSIPG), with post-qualification Master diplomas in Psychology of Ageing and in Clinical Neuroscience, and UCLAN certificate in Supervision for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

 

She has been working as a clinical psychologist in the field of older age and dementia for over 13 years (NHS and privately), and as a psychotherapist with adults and older adults for about 8 years. She has also been supervising psychology (NHS) and psychotherapy trainees. She lived and worked in the UK between 2011 and 2020, and maintains some collaborations abroad, particularly with the Manchester Gestalt Centre. She currently works in Italy, as psychotherapist and psychologist at her private therapy space, and as researcher at INRCA.

 

She has experience of teaching meta-cognitive and psychoeducational programmes on memory, wellbeing, and dementia in small groups, running workshops (especially on working with older people), and speaking at events and conferences. She published a few papers and book chapters. Her goal for 2022 is to become a GPTI accredited trainer and supervisor.
