Process group for psychotherapists in Poland One space free!
We are a self-managing group for therapists – not necessarily Gestalt. The group will have a process group orientation.
Our initial concern was to form a space for therapists where they could regularly bring their issues, private as well as professional ones. The idea of the group originates from informal exchanges with other therapists and resultant from these impression that our Gestalt community is lacking support we can give to one another as a group, taking advantage of our competency in emotional self-awareness as well as relational and field awareness.
To facilitate this process we invited Peter Philippson, Gestalt therapist from Manchester, UK. At the heart of his clinical practice there is a belief that “we discover and form ourselves through our engagement in the world rather than through introspection. The group becomes a laboratory exploring that engagement and forming”.
The group meet four times a year for two days. There is a maximum of 10 people in each group. We have started meeting face-to-face.
The face-to-face venue is a private cottage in a village, around 2 hrs from Warsaw. It is located in a picturesque and quiet surrounding. We cook for ourselves. The accommodation is friendly but simple. There will be 2 people in each room. The nearest grocery is within 3 kms.
The costs cover the trainer’s fees and his travel/food/accommodation costs, translation and a symbolic fee for a house (water, electricity, rubbish, etc.), and will vary depending on the number of people in the group and the cost of flights.
The costs for one meeting:
-
a trainer fee: EUR 400 x2 days= EUR 800 + a flight around EUR 180 = EUR 980. The money is sent directly to the trainer, details in an email for those interested. Per person 98E.
-
a translator’s fee: 80 złx12h = 960PLN. The money is payed during the meeting. Per person 96PLN.
-
a house fee (when meeting face-to-face): 55zł. for the meeting per person.
The whole project is a non-commercial idea. If you apply for this group, be ready for self-management – there won’t be anyone collecting money.
New people attend the first meeting without ongoing commitment, and if they decide to join then make a commitment to pay for each group until they leave (i.e. your absence doesn’t influence an individual cost of those present). The leaving process is that a person announces their intention to leave at one group, and leaves after the next one.
Regarding the first meeting in December 2020 – in case you resign, the costs are not reimbursed, you may find someone else for your place instead. We will decide during the first meeting if people wish the group to continue.
